Winter? Diving

1/12/06 Dove today with Ian. There was a vacuum in the air, it had sucked the water flat. Lots of fog around, most of the places we went it was just overhead. It would have been a great day for a Twilight Zone movie.

We went to some nearby dive sites to the west. We have had good luck off-shore lately but decided to try our luck on some inshore spots. The main issue was vis and that was no problem on the first two dives, 20-30'. The fish
weren't quite so plentiful as in the deeper water but we did find enough for dinner.

There were dangers lurking in the waters. I don't recall seeing these here in the winter. Judging from the sargassum floating nearby I'd say we have had a good push of water in from the far southern Gulf.
